We could all use a 2nd Chance

“PeopleĀ make mistakes and people change in the same aspect.” That’s what Shelar, who was just given a second chance, said.
Shelar got in a lot of trouble with the law in 2018 and has been in prison for the past 3 and a half years. When he was in prison, he said he found a Christian ministry that helpedĀ change his life.
Fast forward to a few months ago and Shelar is out of prison. He reached out to Jacksonville News and asked if he could share his story and most importantly apologize. That takes a lot of sincerity and humility! While he shared his story, he said he’s turning his life around and has hopes of becoming an electrician.
A local electricĀ company saw the story on the news and is putting Shelar through electricianĀ school now and is hiring him after he finishes.

Shelar was shocked and blown away and says he won’tĀ take this second chance for granted. What an amazing community we get to be a part of! A community that comes together and supports one another!
