I don’t know if you remember, but back in 2020, over in Atlantic Beach, a man on drugs attacked a police officer. It was bad… the police officer was left unconscious and ended up having to get reconstructive surgery on his face…
Last week was the trial for the criminal that did that. He was faced with up to life in prison for attempting to murder the police officer. BUT the police offer that was attacked said NO. The officer said ” I have looked evil in the eyes and I didn’t see it in him.”
The officer asked for mercy on his attacker and said “I forgive him”
The man still has to serve jail time but that’s not the point… It take a lot of courage to say I’m sorry… Sometimes it takes more courage to say “I forgive you.”
The judge was blown away and said, “There’s power in forgiveness.”
